In-person counselling in the Inner West and online sessions across Australia.
At Flat Cap Talk Counselling, I create a space where men and young men can better understand themselves in a world that's constantly demanding more of them.
Demands that include the digital age, which didn't create these struggles; but does make them louder.
The pressure to never be enough, never have enough, or never know enough can quietly shape the way we think, feel, and relate to others.
Together, we'll explore what's influencing your life; helping you gain greater clarity, confidence, and direction—not just online, but in everyday life.
You might have people around you, heaps of followers, plenty of friends, and maybe even doing well on a surface level; yet still feel disconnected or misunderstood.
Perhaps you're in a job that leaves you feeling empty, undervalued, or uncertain about what comes next; whilst carrying the pressure of a man - holding everything together.
Maybe feelings of not being enough are starting to overwhelm you, and speaking about loneliness or uncertainty feels too difficult. As thats not what men do, right?
Let's explore that; along with other thought patterns. As over time, it can lead to questioning who you are, where you're going, and what you're to do.
We'll create a space where you can speak openly, without judgement or pressure.
Together, we'll explore the thoughts, relationships, and influences shaping your wellbeing.
With greater understanding comes greater clarity, as you move toward your next adventure.

A Digital Wellbeing Counsellor recognises that technology and social media are part of everyday life. The goal isn't to tell you to delete your social media accounts or avoid technology. Instead, it's about understanding how the digital world may be influencing your wellbeing, and sense of self.
As an ACA-registered counsellor, I support people experiencing challenges such as anxiety, low self-worth, identity confusion, trauma, stress, and depression. Together, we also explore how social media, online comparison, algorithms, digital identity, and constant connectivity may be amplifying those challenges.
Digital wellbeing isn't about rejecting technology. It's about helping you develop a healthier relationship with it, so it supports your life rather than shaping it.

Nope. The issue isn't that social media exists. It's that, for many men and young men, it can amplify challenges that were already there. Feelings of anxiety, comparison, low self-worth, identity confusion, loneliness, and disconnection aren't new. But today's digital world can make it worse.
That's one of the reasons Flat Cap Talk Counselling exists.
My aim isn't to tell you to delete your social media accounts. It's to help you understand how your digital world may be influencing the way you think, and relate to others.
If life feels confusing, overwhelming, or like you're carrying more than you should, you don't have to work it out alone.
When you're ready, let's talk.

Most likely not. Quitting social media won't solve everything. But changing your relationship with it can. It is neither ‘good’ or ‘bad’, it is just a tool. The better question to ask is, ‘What is Instagram doomscrolling doing to me?’. Is it allowing you to have better connections with family abroad? Or, is it fueling an existing habit of comparison, or avoiding difficult emotions? Both applications include scrolling, but two very different outcomes show up.
At Flat Cap Talk Counselling, I don't encourage people to abandon technology. I encourage them to become more intentional about how they use it.
Because when we become aware of how the digital world is shaping us, we have a choice.
And that choice can lead to change.
